Only For the Moment

Standing there in the rain, he looked up into the sky, letting the rain wash his face. This was fitting. But it would have been better was if there were actual tears running down his face. But he had to make do. The sky will have to cry for him instead. He should feel sorrow, but all he felt was emptiness and a pit of void deep inside of him. He knew what could fill it, but it just slipped out of his fingers. Feeling nothing but contempt for himself. It was fitting as he stood in the rain. He had always wondered why it was his favorite weather, and now he finally knew. No more mask, no more acting, no more theatrical play. Just him and him alone. Who he really is, how he always feels. It was relieving. But only for the moment. Only until the next time it showers. Only when he ever hit this point will be let himself feel like this.
